BachPlus brings Handel’s masterful Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day to life together with Maasmechelen soprano Ilse Eerens and tenor Charles Daniels.

Composed in 1739, this ode is a musical tribute to Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music, whose feast day is traditionally celebrated on November 22.

Handel opens grandly with a poetic sketch of the creation story and then takes you on a journey full of emotion, suspense, and pure goosebumps. Expect heavenly choruses, dazzling arias, impressive instrumental passages, and a breathtaking final chorus, which resonates with the Last Judgment.

An evening full of baroque grandeur and musical perfection – Handel at his best!
